GUNMEN SHOOT CHILDREN

NEW YORK CITIZENS INDIGNANT.

Gangsters seeking to kill a rival on the street indiscriminately fired a machine gun into a crowd of playing children, wounding five and killing one. They then escaped in an automobile. The citizens are indignant and demand that the police commissioner find the perpetrators or resign. The newspapers offer 5000 dollars reward for the capture and conviction of the gunmen.
