REFORMERS AT VARIANCE
GENERAL ELECTION PLANS
WILL MR. FORBES BE OPPOSED?
HURUNUI ELECTORS DIVIDED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Reform supporters in the electorate represented by the Prime Minister, Mr. G. W. Forbes, do not all agree with the. decision of a Reform meeting at Raugiora recently not to nominate a candidate to oppose Mr. Forbes but to leave the Prime Minister free to give his attention to national’ affairs. The suggestion was that the United Party should refrain from nominating an opponent for the Reform Leader, Mr. J. G. Coates, in the Kaipara electorate for a similar reason. A meeting of 70 Hurunui Reform supporters was held at Hawarden to-night. The meeting was held in committee and tlie following resolution was carried: “That owing to the unfortunate misunderstanding that has arisen in connection with the recent meeting held at Rangiora the executive committee be asked to call meetings-of Hurunui electors in all districts to appoint delegates to attend a meeting at Amberley to reach finality in connection with the selection of a candidate in the Reform interests.”
