. RESOLUTION OF MASS MEETING.

A representative mass meeting of farmers and business people convened by the North Otago branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held this afternoon to consider the economic position of*'New Zealand. The attendance was about 30(), representing every branch of the community.

The following motion was unanimously carried: “That this mass meeting representative of the farming and commercial interests of Oamaru and North Otago, in view of the very serious economic position of New Zealand respectfully requests the Cabinet to call Parliament together on the return of the Prime Minister with a view to formulating a policy to relieye the economic stress by necessary legislation and administration.”
