TRIBUTE TO PRIME MINISTER
GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S PRAISE. WORK AT IMPERIAL CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. Warm tribute to the work done by the Prime Minister, Mr.- G. W. Forbes, at the Imperial Conference was paid by the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, at a reception to-day. His Excellency said Mr. Forbes was worthy of the warmest welcome on his return for he had acquitted himself with distinct credit. “Mr. Forbes expressed in simple, straight and courageous language- the views he thought best calculated to promote the prosperity not only of his own country but also of the Motherland and other Dominions,” said the Gover-nor-General. “Hie opinions with regard to economic relations and his statesmanlike utterances at the conference generally evoked the warmest admiration of ail sections of the assembly. He has faithfully fulfilled his difficult task as representative of this Dominion and a universal chorus of approval is his due.”
