FESTIVAL OF DEDICATION

ST. MARY’S, NEW PLYMOUTH. St, Mary’s Church, New Plymouth, is keeping the annual festival of dedication to-morrow. For over 80 years the venerable church has stood, growing in the regard of an ever-increasing number of people. To-morrow commemoration will be made of William Bolland, the first vicar, of Henry Govett, his successor, and for so long Archdeacon of J aranaki, and of many other pioneer benefactors who- shared in the work of founding and developing St. Mary’s. Holy Communion will be celebrated at 7, 8 and 11 a.m. At the 11 o’clock service Archdeacon Gavin will preach. In the afternoon at 2.45 the Rev. J. N. Thompson, Vicar of Inglewood, will address the children. Festal evensong will be sung at 7 p.m. The preacher will be the Archdeacon of Waitotara (Ven. R. Creed Meredith), who has kindly undeltaken the duty at short notice. The setting of the Communion service at 8 a.m. will be Smart in G. In the evening the choir will sing Walmisley’s service and the anthem will be Woodward’s ‘‘Radiant Morn,”
