“CHURCH OF LAUGHTER"
THE MERRIEST PROSECUTION LAUGH AFTER EACH VERSE ROARS GREET SENTENCE , F I I CONVULSIONS IN THE CELLS By Telegraph —Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 11 p.m. Budapest, Nov. 20. The merriest prosecution in the history of crime was enacted when I'B members of a sect called “Church of Laughter” were charged, with belonging to a religious body not authorised by the State. The sect holds services for Bible readings ih which the members burst into fits of laughter at every verse, justifying their conduct by quoting Bible teaching. The defendants were sentenced to a few days’ imprisonment, when they fell down on their knees and prayed that the gift of laughter might be bestowed upon their judges. They were then led to their cells still convulsed with merriment.
