STORMY WEATHER ON COAST
DISORGANISATION AT ONEHUNGA,
(By . Wire—Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night.
The continued stormy weather is being severely felt on the Manukau and has completely disorganised all shipping between Onehunga and West Coast ports. The Hauturu was to have sailed yesterday afternoon from Onehunga for New Ply* mouth, but her departure was postponed until this morning owing to the unfavourable state of the bar, as reported by the signalman at Manukau Heads- A severe storm last night churned up the bar so that no vessel could cross it outward bound and the Hauturu’s trip was further postponed pending more favourable weather conditions. The Ronaki was expected to arrive at Onehunga early this morning from Raghn and Kawhia, but she is bar-bound at Raglan.
The Arapawa is tied up at Kaipara awaiting a favourable opportunity to cross the bar. The Hokianga is at Onehunga. It will thus be seen that every vessel on the West Coast is prevented from putting out to sea, to the great inconvenience or the shipping community and settlers who are served by these vessels.
