CONVICT LABOUR PRODUCT
RUSSIAN TIMBER FOR BRITAIN.

Asked whether he was satisfied after examination of certain documents that the Russian timber being imported into Britain was produced by convict labour, Mr. W. Graham, president of the Board of Trade, said that the documents submitted lent support to the allegations which had been made in the House of Commons that some forced labour, including that of prisoners, was employed in the timber industry of the Soviet Union.
