BRUTAL RUGBY IN FRANCE

Paris, May 5. “Promise me it is your last game,” Madame Bradie besought her 20-year-okl sou before he played in a Rugby game at Bordeaux. “They will kill you yet.” The same night Bradie died in his mother’s arms from spine injuries received in the game. During the game another player tried to strangle an opponent and refused to obey the referee, whom he kicked heavily in 'the thigh. Thirteen players were seriously hurt and were unable to leave tho field unaided. Jean Galie, hearing of Bradie’s death, said; “X shall never play Rugby again.” The general feeling in that unless prompt and effective steps are taken Rugby in France is doomed. Ribere, the French Rugby captain, said that many injuries were liot due to accidents. “Rugby U too brutal,” he added.
