A climax to tho dispute between the Waterside Workers’ Federation and the shipowner.} concerning tho employment of free labour came before the Arbitration Court, when Judge Becby rejected the claim by the Watereidc Union for preference on tho waterfront, and said the court had long ago laid it down that the granting of preference did not guarantee industrial peace.
