DALGLEISH CUP PRESENTED

• SOCIAL AT STRADHOLME. The New Plymouth Ladies’ Life-Sav-ing Club’s monthly social at Stradholme on Saturday was marked by the presentation of the Dalgleish Cup by the president, Mias E. L. Dowling, to Miso Gayton. Miss Dowling remarked that it was the highest trophy given by the club. The programme wms: Piano solos, Missea Mould and Crawshaw; violin and ’cello aolos, Miss E. L. Dowling; songs, Miss I. Larkin. Supper was served and later there was community singing and gramophone selections. A ping-pong tournament resulted: Miss Dowling 31 beat Miss Barlow 23; Mies Evans 31 beat Miss Gayton 13; Mrs. Gable 31 beat Mrs. T. M. Avery 18; Miss Dowling 31 beat Miss Evans 19; Mr. Hirst 31 beat Miss Crawshaw 14; Mr. Hirst 81 beat Mrs, Gable 19; Miss Dowling 31 beat Miss Evans 28; final, Mr. Hirst 31 beat Miss Dowling 21.
