CHARGE OF SHEEP STEALING
FRESH EVIDENCE DISCOVERED. By Telegraph.—rres-s Association. Dunedin, May 5. The sheep-stealing case against Gilbert William Lewis, which was before the Supreme Court last week and was adjourned till to-day owing to witnesses for the defence being seen conversing with two jurymen, took another surprisi..g turn this morning, when the Crown intimated its intention of calling a considerable volume of fresh evidence. As the defence had only short notice of the introduction of fresh evidence, counsel’s application for an adjournment till next session was granted. • •
