CARDINGTON STATION EQUIPMENT

Rec. 9.20 p.m. London, April 29. Two enormous claws, capable of doing the work of 1000 human beings with Frankenstcinin precision are being prepared at the Cardington air station. Mounted on a trolley running on con-crete-embedded rails, the claws will be used for handling the airships RlOO and RIOL
The device moves the airship from the sheds, even in a stiff wind, whereas hitherto the operations had to waif until there was absolute calm. The 500 men at present employed cannot drag the airship from the shed when the weather is windy. It is also hoped the new claws will avert the danger of the vessel crashing its hull against the girders of the shed, as happened t-o the RlOO last week, thereby smashing the elevator and delaying the airship’s flight to Canada.
