GERMAN PEASANTS IN RUSSIA
PERMISSION TO LEAVE REFUSED. MANY MAD WITH DISAPPOINTMENT. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Conyright. Riga, Nov. 21. The Soviet has finally refused to permit German colonists to leave Russia. It has vouchsafed no reason for . the decision. Several women colonists have gone mad with disappointment, owing to the prospect of returning to their former misery, Police and military surrounded the peasants’ barracks in Moscow and arrested 68, who despairingly arranged with their wives to commit suicide.
