DUNEDIN’S LIGHT RAINFALL

AUGUST LOWEST FOR SIX YEARS.

Dunedin. Aug. 31.

Exceptionally light rainfall has been experienced in Dunedin during the month of August, the total fall being only half an inch. This was the lightest fall recorded for August during the past six or seven years and the second lightest for any calendar month for the past six years. Very light rain fell on eleven days during last month. August, however, was a very cold period, the average maximum daily temperature being 4G degrees and the average minimum temperature 34 degrees.
