London, May 21. _An astonishing story of the murder of 17 persons and the wounding of five comes from the village of Pasanant, Province of Tarragon. A youth, says the Times, induced children to come to the fields to watch pigeon shooting. He there shot seven children dead with a double-barrelled shotgun and killed eight en route to the village, where he shot a woman dead, wounded another, and slew her with an axe. He wounded five more and fled, pursued by the police. He has not been captured. The name of the man alleged to have committed the crime is Jose Marimoa, aged 26.
