A severe wind and thunderstorms were experienced in the Riverina district during the week-end. For the second time within a few weeks the township of Henty .was flooded. Two inches of rain fell in half an hour. Considerable damage was done to the roads. At Yerong Creek a tornado unroofed several business houses, and telephone and telegraph lines were blown down. At Uranquity roofs were lifted off sheds, and trees were uprooted. Many fallowed paddocks were badly scoured, and fruit trees suffered much damage. A cloudburst near Corobimilla caused the wash-away of four or five chains of railway-. An earthquake at Wellington caused people to rush into the streets. Windows were broken and plaster shaken from ceilings.
