ACCUSED SENT TO GAOL.

Dannevirke, Sept. 10.

Three informations charging him with assaults on girls were preferred against Herbert W. Morgan, a young man, in the Magistrate’s Court. Defendant admitted the charges.

It was represented by the police that defendant had been hanging round the streets following girls home at. night. This was what had occurred in the cases which were the subject of the charges, and the amorously inclined defendant on one of the occasions attempted to kiss one of the girls. The circunistances were not serious, but his conduct was blackguardly. Defendant, who had been in trouble previously, was sent-enced to one months’ imprisonment on one charge and convicted and discharged on the others.
