THE TREND OF FASHION.

MEN OUTPACING THE WOMEN

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright

London, Sept. 8. Lady Duff Gordon opened the Russian boot exhibition at Birmingham, where the winter samples revealed zig-zag ami cubist designs, fur-topped decorated collars, and. others of the familiar concertina type. She said that last year men complained of unsightly Russian boots. Lots of girls showed bare legs above the boots and, doubtless, despite the protest, man was attracted by this uncovered portion.

Simultaneously comes the announcement in the Daily Express by “Tango” that red hats will be the most fashionable man’s headgear. The president of the National Association of Outfitters says that men want more and more colour in their clothes and can no longer criticise women. They are nearly outpacing them, and can anybody imagine men five years ago wearing such socks, ties, pullovers, and plus-fours as they do now ?
