i 100 FOOT DROP. BOY’S WONDERFUL ESCAPE'. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Dec. 27. Ernest McGeorge, aged 13, had a remarkable escape from death yesterday. While walking on the hillside near Lyttelton his hat blew off, and, in an attempt to recover it, he fell over the cliff to the road below, a distance of 100 feet. There was nothing to break bis fall on to the hard metalled road. When the police arrived at the spot they found ’ the boy lying unconsicous on the road. He was removed to the hospital, where he recovered consciousness shortly afterwards. His injuries comprised fractured wrists, a. scalp wound and concussion. His condition is satisfactory.
