THE TARANAKI ARCHDEACONRY. BUSINESS SESSION TO-DAY. New Plymouth at present wears a church conference air owing to the gathering together of the Anglican clergymen of the Taranaki Archdeaconry for the annual board meeting, the business session of which opens at 10 this morning, when the Bishop of Auckland (Dr. A. W. Averill) will preside. Yesterday • morning the Bishop met the clergy of the archdeaconry at St. Mary’s Church. In the afternoon at four o’clock twenty-one adult candidates were presented for , confirmation by His Lordship, and last evening the usual archdeaconry board evensong service was held at St. Mary’s. Holy Communion will be celebrated at 8 o’clock this morning, while the business session of the board will occupy the remainder of the day. To-night at 7.30 a young people’s confirmation service will be held at St. Mary’s.
