Orders for papers may also be left with him. GENERAL ITEMS. February 5. The death occurred at the Stratford Hospital on Saturday evening of the little son of Mrs. L. Hann, who was injured on Mr. Paul’s farm on Pembroke Road. Before commencing the business at to-day’s meeting of the Taranaki Provincial War Relief Association several members extended a welcome to the chairman, Mr. W. P. Kirkwood, who recently returned from a tour of the United States and Great Britain. Eulogistic reference was also made to the services of Mr. E. H. Young, who acted in the absence of Mr. Kirkwood. The Stratford Technical High School re-opens after the summer vacation tomorrow about 90 new pupils added to the rolls. Mr. Ivor Saunders, an old boy of the Stratford High School, who has been studying at Victoria College, Wellington, has been successful in passing the first section of the examination for 8.-Sc. Mr. Saunders has recently been appointed assistant in the Bacteriological Laboratory, Southland Hospital, Invercargill. Great interest is being manifested in the Plunket Society flower show to be held on February 14 and 15. The many beautiful gardens in Stratford and elsewhere through the province should provide a display of rare beauty at the height of a prolific season. Entries for the show close on February 13.
