P. AND T. ASSOCIATION.

QUESTION OF RECOGNITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Postmaster-General (the Hon. J. G. Coates) states that the report of his remarks at the annual conference of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association supplied to the Press does not convey a correct impression of what he said on the subject of the recognition of the association. The paragraph was only a portion of what he said, and conveyed a wrong impression. He says: “I made it quite clear to the members of the conference that there was an official course which should be followed, but if there were matters upon which they wished to see me at my office, it was at all itmes open to them. I further expressed the hope that the remits passed at the conference would be placed before me.”
