A STRIKING EXHIBITION. By Telegraph—Prean AssociationWellington, Last Night. An exhibition of goods made in New Zealand was opened by the Prime Minister this afternoon, in the presence of a large gathering of the public and members of Parliament. The latter had adjourned till the evening to allow members to inspect the display, which was a very comprehensive one. A harbor, shed was occupied mainly by machinery, and there were exhibits in the Town Hall of all kinds of miscellaneous articles made in the Dominion! Mechanical appliances for use in the agricultural and dairy industries naturally bulk large in the display. One exhibit was of sugar made from beet grown in Canterbury, an experiment in which the Department of Industries is taking a close interest.
