FIRES.

SHOP AND HOUSE DAMAGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 27. A fire at Kilbirnie early this morning badly damaged a shop and dwel-ling-house of seven rooms, owned and occupied by Stewart Brown McDonald. The building was insured for £2OOO in the New Zealand and Alliance offices, and stock in the Royal for £l3OO. The contents of the house were insured for .£270, anil the cash register for £350. The cause is unkriown.
