THE KAIRAKI ASHORE.

OX KARAMEA BAR. Per Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Enquiries made at the Kaiapoi Shipping Company's office to-day as to the position of the s.s. Kairaki, ashore on the south spit of the Karamea bar, elicited from the manager the assurance that no danger to the vessel is anticipated. When crossing the bar the main steam pipe burst, which has since, Captain Scott reports, been repaired. The steamer had been shifted almost twenty feet from her former position towards the channel, when the warping line carried away. As the place where the steamer stranded is sandy, and the sea is reported to be smooth, no serious results are anticipated.
