TRADE UNION ACT

AMENDMENT OBJECTED TO. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, January U. The management committee of the Federation of Trade Unions in connection with the Osborne judgment condemns iiny amendment to the Trade Union Act enabling minorities to avoid the effect of the decision of majorities. It argues that such an amendment would be calculated to introduce disintegration and to complicate accounts relating to contributions and benefits. It emphasises the fact that trade unions are voluntary organisations, and maintains that the legislature is unjustified in interferiifg with the decisions of the majority relating to finance.
