Exchange of Reserves.
Last night delegates representing the Taruuaki Agricultural Society, Tarannki Jockey Club, Star Football Club, Tukapa Football Club, and the Mew Plymouth Cricket Club conferral with tfno Borough Council on the subject of the proposed exihi.nge of St. Germain's Square for certain municipal reserves on Avenue Road. The council had previously passed tho following resolutions;— That provided the proposed exchange is carried into effect the following resolutions bo agreed to—(l)That the council is agreeable as one of the interested parties to exchange the 12{ acres of Jiaeecourse Reserve east of the Avenue Road 'for St. Germain's Square, provided tho square can be obtained for revenue producing purposes, and the Agricultural Society pays to tho Borough Council the difference in the value of the two reserves ; (2) that itho council is not prepared to alter the existing trusts of the reserve ; (8) that the council is agreeable to the whole of tho grazing revenue being devoted to the improvement, of tho reoerve and litling it for sports, provided the expenditure is controlled by the council ; (4) clause 1) is agreed to, provided a right-of-way is reserved to tho existing entrance to the Recreation Grounds.
