Labour Laws.

THEIU EFFECT ON INDUSTRIAL CONDITIONS. A Melbourne cable of July 29th states that at the weekly meeting of tlx« executive of the Employers)' Federation a letter was received from Mr Scott, secretary of the Otago Employers' Association, regarding the industrial conditions in New Zealand. He says there is in New Zealand no such thing as finality in the awards, and the incoming year promises to be one of unrest, anxiety and friction between employers and employed, and may witness an upsetting of those conditions that should exist between master and servant. A Dujiedon Press Association message subsequently reported that the statement ascribed to Mr W. Scott, secretary of the Otago Employers' Association, by the Employers' Federation in Melbourne, is an excerpt from the annual report of the Master Tailors' Union of Employers, a copy of which was enclosed, and represents the opinion of that union only,, and not necessarily that of the Otago Employers' Association.
