It haibein decided that voting be in the ratio of one for every twscty-five members. The following motioa was carried : That the Committee of this Chamber notes with phasura the Government proposes to cdl f or tenders for a direct 'steam servica to South Africi, and hopes suitable tenders will bi received, and that the Govemiaunt will see its way to provide an adequate subsidy—preference being givan to Now Zealand ships.
