VICE-REGAL VISIT.

RECEPTION TQ THE GOVERNORGENERAL.

The Governor-General and tho Countess of Liverpool will arrive in .Nelson to-morrow on a farewell visit. Tho following programme for the reception and entertainment of their Excellencies has been arranged:—Civic reception, at Church Steps at 10 o'clock, followed by morning tea, at the Soldiers' Club; visit to tho Colleges; public luncheon at theCity Council Chambers at 12.80. In the afternoon the party, which will number seven, will be taken for a motor drive' into the country. On the way out a short stop will be made at .Richmond, after which orchards in the Redwood's Valley district will 'be inspected. Tho Hod Cross Committee at lirightwater and Waimca West will entertain their Excellencies at afternoon tea at Mrs. \v. Colt's residence, lirightwater.

There will be 11 parade, of the T.er ritorials and Senior Cadets, and business people are asked by the Mayor to close their premises during the oiiicial reception.

The City Council last night confirmed the arrangements for the reception, luncheon, and other functions, and.approved the address of welcome, which has been most artistically engrossed and [Humiliated by the Town Clerk. Mr. Edmonds was accorded a cordial vote of thanks for undertaking this.

The Government offices will close all. day.

The vice-regal party, will make a stop at Richmond, a reception being held in the Council Chamber at half-past two o'clock. By advertisement in this issue the Mayor of Richmond invites residents of the " borough to assemble and the tradespeople to close their establishments.

There will be no Minister of ih© Crown accompanying his Excellency. The vice-regal party will leave iur Westport in the evening.
