The Hon. J. T. Paul, who is. a candidate for the Dunedin South seat at the forthcoming election, has tendered his resignation ..as a member of the Legislative Council.

Mr C C. Mauger, of Dunedin, was recently presented at the Government shipping office in the southern city with the Polar Expedition Medal, 1914-16, by Captain N. Beaumont, on behalf of the Imperial Government, in recognition ox his services as ship's carpenter on the Aurora.

Mr E. T-I. Chesterman, well known in Wellington Rugby circles, who broke his leu while playing for Wellington Post and Telegraph, against Christchurch Post and Telegraph three months ago, has returned to Wellington where he will undergo treatment, as the leg has not yet mended..
