OBITUARY.
MR ARTHUR, R. KITCHING
Wo regret to announce the death of Mr Arthur R. Hitching, which took place early yesterday morning, suddenly ly. Mr Kitching was at his business all day on Saturday, and in the evening he returned home, and was about to have tea when he suffered a seizure, which rendered him unconscious* Dr. Johnston was summoned, but the case was a hopeless one. and Mr Kitching passed away without having regained consciousness. Deceased was 63 years of age, and an old resident, having come to Nelson in 1860 with his father and family. For over thirty years he was with the late Mr Henry i tounsell, and later was for some year? manager of the Nelson Co-operative stores. He then started in business for himself in Hardy street. Mr Kitching v. .-.s a very active member of the OddfellquV Order, and on many occasions represented Ms, lodge at the district meetings. He was also keenly interested in the Volunteers in his younger days, being a member of the old Nelson City Rifle.Corps. He was a very keen sportsman, and a noted game ... shot. .Deceased W:;!-; widely known in the district, and. highly.'respected. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family. ;.;"
