HOME MISSION FESTIVAL.

The season has again arrived for holding the Anglican Home Mission i-e-sti-vat. The object of the home mission fund is the raising of means to supplement the stipends of the clergy in the country districts, where the population is small and scattered. As will be remembered, the first of these festivals was held last year in each of the' archdeaconries, and proved quite suceessiul. This year one has already been hold in Blenheim, and proved even a greater success than th<J previous one, the nett proceeds being £130. Tn© one at Westport is to take place this week. Preparations for the Nelson festival have been commenced .by-,the-.ladies committee, and requests - for several tables have already been received. 1 lie use of the Drill Shed, has again been kindly granted by the military authorities, and it is confidently expected that the capacity of that building will be taxed to the utmost.
