Akaroa, March 5

The Hon. James Allen, Minister of Education, in opening the new school at Akaroa this afternoon, said he intended next session to give further consideration to the salaries paid to school teachers. He hoped to make things better for them, not only for those in primary schools, but also for thise in secondary schools, for in his opinion teachers in the latter ..schools were very much under-paid, and he hoped to "make their positio nmore com•fortable in .future.
