ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Nelson Kennel Club was held at the Anglers' Club room last evening. There was a fair attendance of-members. Mr A. G. Botts was voted to the chair. Tho chairman said, that the club would not start with a credit balance, but it was satisfactory to know that the club was free from liabilities. At the present time there were a. number of good dogs in Nelson, and i\ large number of people were interested in these animals. He had no doubt if the members put their shoulders to tho wheel the club would have a rattling good show this year. Officers were elected as follows:— Patron, Mr S. Kirkpatrick (re-elected); president, Mr N. P. Adams; vice-pre-sidents, Dr Andrew,; Messrs H. R. Duncan, 0. J. Harley, W. Rogers, S. C. Chrisp, F. H. Durbvidgc, H. B. Walker, and A. G. Bctts; committee, Messrs A. E. Greenslade, G. Elliott, T Elliott, T. C. Mansford, L. Ward, J. Balck, H. Pike, C, Webley, G. Batchelor; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr H. F. West; auditor, Mr F. R. Bethwaite.
It was resolved to hold the show on Friday and Saturday, 2Gth and 27th September. After discussion it was decided to hold a field trial in connection ivith tho show.
A sub-committee consisting of the president, Messrs Walker and Balck, was set uj.i to run the field trial.
The president, Messrs S. C. Chrisp, A. G. Betts, and the secretary wore appointed a schedule committee. Arrangements for securing the services of judges were left in the hands of the com.-nittee.
Several other matteys were discussed, and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair. .
