The Town Clerk of Fremantle, reporting against the Government proposal to erect State abattoirs, makes strong -•charges in regard to the alleged meat vHng. He shows that cattle were exported to Asiatic countries at a much ■cheaper rate than they were supplied •locally. He advocates a prohibitive export duty as the most effective means to check the ring and to secure cheaper
