Creymouth, May 17

This afternoon a great crowd'assembled to witness the laying of the foundation stone of the now Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jno. McKenzio, of Christchurch. The buildin:! is designed by Messrs Salmond and Vaines, architects, of Dunedin, and is to be built of brick. The ceremony wns attended by loading citizens and all the ministers of religion in the district were present. A largo choir rendered anthems, and the Sunday schoo! children sang hymns. Close on £500 in donations was laid on the foundation stone. Tho Rev. John MeKenzie is being entertained at a social to-night.
