MR. J. M. CAMPBELL.

(From "The Colonist," Jan. 23.") The death occurred at the Nelson Hospital on Friday last of Mr James McKorrow Campbell. The deceased was born in the city of Dumfries, aiul came to the Dominion nearly 50 years ago, much of the time being spent m Nelson as a painter and house- decorator The late Mr Campbell was a keen botanist. His garden was always filled with the choicest flowers, his' fenery contained the rarest specimens of ferns, and Ins knowledge of plants was exceptional. _ lho deceased was a widower, his wife having died several years ago. He .leaves three sons, all of whom reside in Nelson and district, and one daughter, Mrs J. Rogers, of Wellington. Very general sympathy will be felt with the family in their bereavement.
