MRS BOND.
(From "The Colonist," Jan. 30,
We regret to announce the death of Mrs Bond, wife of Mr W. T. Bond, senior member of the firm of Bond, Finney, and Co., proprietors of "The Colonist," which occurred at her residence at a late hour last night, after an illness of long standing. For the last three, years Mrs Bond had been completely invalided, and about three weeks ago her malady reached an acute stage, the end being almost momentarily expected since. Mrs Bond came with her husband to Nelson nearly fifty years ago, and had since resided continuously in the city. Although she always lived in some retirement, she was widely known, and her unobtrusive goodness won her general esteem. Besides her husband Mrs Bond leaves a family of two sons and two daughters. The elder son, Mr Percy Bond, is a member of the proprietary ol this paper, and the younger, Mr J H. C. Bond, holds the position of General Traffic Manager in the Union Steam Ship Company's service, and resides at Dunedin. Tho daughters are Miss Bond and Miss Grace Bond, who both reside in Nelson. The members of the family will have general sympathy in their bereavement. The interment will be private.
At the meeting of the. City Council last night the Mayor moved that a letter of condolence be forwarded to Mr W. T. Bond and family in their bereavement. The resolution was seconded by Councillor Lightband. The mover and seconded spoke feelingly to the resolution, which was carried in silence, the councillors standing.
