J. IS. Goldiiig was charged on the information of the inspector of Noxious Weeds with failing to clear noxious tveeds (ox-eye daisy;. Defendant pleaded, guilty. Inspector (Jleland stated that. this was the first case in the Ooi.ingn'ood district as regards this weed, turn he did not press for a heavy nenalty. Defendant undertook to put a man on at once to clear the land.

The Magistrate pointed out that i efendant bad neglected the notice given in November by the inspector, and had done nothing for three months. It was not a case for a minimum penalty. Defendant was fined 20s tifd costs 7s. ..
