SHEARERS' DISPUTE.

Palmerston North, Feb. 5. A conference between shearers and sheepownera yesterday agreed to certain amendments to the claim of the former, which are to be submitted to the executive bodies of both parties. It is understood that the men have agreed to the omission of preference and the owners accept a rate of J6l a hundred for both machine and hand work.
