ATHLETIC CRICKET CLUB.

The annual meeting of this Club was held at the N.A. and 0.0. Rooms on Sept. Bth. when there was a good attendance. Mr W. W. ; Squires occupied the chair. The President, Mr S. Kirkpa trick, sent word, regretting his inability to be present. The nineteenth annual report of the Club referred to the sound finan- j cial position of the club, and to the fact that the Senior and First Junior teams were runners up in their re spective championships, the Senior only being lost after a play off with the College. Since 1899 this team only suffered three defeats. Senior trophies were won by G. Knapp (batting) and J. Butler (bowling); Junior trophes, H. Neale and S. Barnett (bowling), and L. Hesseltine (batting). The report and balance-sheet were adopted Officers were then elected as follows:— Patron: Mr Tinline. President: Mr S. Kirkpatrick. VicePresidents: Messrs Sadd, Moyes, Pr. Andrew, W. W. Squires, S. Bolton and Tatton. Hon. Captain :Mr W. N. Poole. Practice Captain: Mr W. D. Chisholm. Secretary: Mr G. G. Stewart. Junior Secretary: Mr L. Hesseltine. Treasurer; Mr J. Butler. Committee: Messrs Chisholm, Bird, Livick, Knapp, King and Ryder. Delegates to Association : Messrs W. Chisholm and G. G. Stewart. It was decided to open the season on 16th September. Twenty-nine new members were elected, as follows:— Messrs M. Stewart, H. Hounsell, J. Joyce, C. Palmer, D. E. Cooke, F. Hurst, F. Ryder, G. Maddison, E. Player, C. Mayo, S. G. Woon, T. Newman, A. Cassin, F. N. Jones, junior, J. Frazer, — Chamley, N. Williams, C. F. Newman, H.Ames, G. H. Harper, junior, R. Storey, R. C. Hurst, J. H. King, O. Spear, F. Batchelor, J. McGayin, H. Spear, G. Stapp, F. P. Kitching. Favorable comment waa made on the large number of new members proposed, which the Chairman declared augured well for the club's success during the coming season. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting. |£
