At Ihe meeting of tie Liod Board to-day, a resolution was passed recording the appreciation of the manner in which Mr T. Humphries, Commissioner (now transferred to Nelson) bad oondaoted the business of the Board, and eulogising the general administration of the district. In acknowledging the compliment, Mr Humphries eaid that his experience had been that the Hawke's Bay settlers were, on the whole, bard- working, persevering, and industrious. Mr Humphries laaves for bis new-Bphere of labour at Nelson early in January. Blbnheim, Deoember 18. The mine manager wired this morning that the Wakamarina Qorge is flooded.
