Ha webA, September 26. The enquiry bb Ij the origin of the late fatal fire was finished to-day, after five days Bitting and lengthy evidenoe had been taken. The following verdiot was returned :— " We find that the fire originated in or near the High-Btreet window in Smith's draper's shop, and tbat the evidenoe is not sufficiently dear to show bow it originated. Campbell was not prompt J enough at the outbreak in trying to suppress the fire, or give an alarm." A rider was added that if A. Campbell had given hia evidenoe more fully, we think the enquiry would have been finished earlier and more satisfactorily,
