Ghbibtchuboh, September 26. !The Mayor has sent a telegram to the Hod W. P. Beeves, stating that, to the best of bis belief, there are 2,000 men out of employment in Christoharoh, maDy of them in very straitened ciioumatances. At the Charitable Aid Board to-day, it was reported tbat 507 separate outdoor oases, comprising 1,690 persons had been relieved in the month of August, as against 5U6 in July. The number for August, 1894, was 469 (l,s73;persons), the increase thus bein? 33 cases (117 persons).
