MASONIC SOCIAL AND BALL.

The Masonic social and ball, which took place at the Provincial Hall last evening, proved a decided sucoees, fully two hundred ladies and gentlemen being present. The hall was most beautifully decorated with flags, Chinese lanternß, floral wreaths, and ourtains, and the elaborate and artistic work displayed therein reflected considerable credit on the painstaking efforts of tbe Committee, and especially of those of Mr A. E. Cresswell, t c Secretary, who labored hard in connection therewith. TJie gay decorations, the handsome regalia of the Brotherhood, and the beautiful and tasteful dresses of the ladies combined to present a brilliant scene, and one pleasant to look upon. The concart was thoroughly enjoyed. The orchestra supplied some excellent musio ; Mr Bain, a solo, 11 Wreoked and SaveJ ;" Mr and Miss Green, a duett ; Miss Brind, a solo, " Sweet Spirit, Hear my Prayer;" Misa M'Eaoben, a solo, " I cannot sing the Old Songs ;" Mr Gilbert, a Bong, " Waiting ;" Miss Baigent, a solo, 41 Call me Baok ;" Mr House, a humorous reading; Miss Guinness, a bolo, "Old and New ;" and Mr A. P. Lucas, a song, " Mona." Mrs A. P. Lucas did good Bervioe as an aooompanyist. After the concert the ball oommenced, when a programme oomprising some score of dances was gone through, splendid music being supplied by members of the String Band, and Mr H. Baigent made an efficient Master of Ceremonies. The table was a sight worth beholding, for not only was it loaded with delicacies of every description, but it was moat artistioally set out, and was evidence of the labors of the Ladies' Committee) and especially of Misses Creeswell and Hyde. All connected with last night's gathering may well be satisfied with its suocees, and the appreciation of their labors shown by the numerous oompany.
