Our forces recaptured GOOO rounds of ammunition. Thirty-seven dead bodies were found on the field. The ground was not thoroughly examined, but the actual loss of the rebels in killed is supposed to be fifty.
A. meeting of the Maoris was held at Wairoapa, and the ultimate decision come to was, that the peace of the Wairoapa district should not be disturbed.
Government telegrams state that twothirds of the rebels decamped with Te Kooti and the wounded.
