SUCCESSFUL DANCE

TE RAHU TENNIS CLUB The Te Rahu Tennis Club concluded a very successful season with an excellent dance last Saturday evening in the Te Rahu Hall. George Vercoe’s Orchestra was in fine form, and the duties of M.C. were efficiently carried out by Mr Keith Fraser, president of the elub. During the evening opportunity was taken to present the cups and trophies won during the season. Ladies Singles (ehampionship cup), Mrs G. Fleteher. Men’s Singles (championship cup), Mr R. Thompson. Ladies Singles (handicap cup), Miss E- Weal. Men’s Singles (handicap cup), Mr R. Thompson. Ladies Doubles (handicap trophy), Mrs G. Fletcher and Miss M. Harwood. Combines (handicap trophy), Miss N. Verity and Mr G. Pollard. Novelty dances were won as follows: Monte Carlo Waltz, Miss Veronica Johnson and partner; Spot Waltz, Miss Heather Burnett and partner. In the Mexican Monte Carlo partner. In the Mexican Competition Mr Brian Ham proved the lucky man. A delicious supper was served by the ladies of the Club and was much appreciated. Dancing continued until midnight, which came all too soon, to conclude a happy evening.
