TESTED AND INSPECTED
INSTALLATIONS AND EXTENSIONS REPORT OF CHIEF INSPECTOR The report of Mr A. J. Tailby, chief electrical inspector, as placed before Te Awamutu Electric Power Board on Friday, read as follows: During the period since last meeting 97 installations and extensions were tested and inspected, making a total to date of 8775. Following are the totals of the various installations to the present month, with the figures for the same month of 1944 in paj-entheses: Lighting plants 2846 (3752), cow-plant motors 918 (918), separator motors 582 (562), other power plants 113 (104), water-pump motors 910 (877), washing machines 433 (433), shearing plants 142 (138), electric stoves 1150 (1095), electric water-heaters 1681 (1611). We also tested and inspected extensions on 33 lighting plants, 1 milking plant, 1 water-heater, and 2 other power plants, the total number to date being 4936. Tested and inspected alterations on 13 cow-plants, 16 water-heaters, 4 lighting plants, 13 water-pumps, 1 other power plant, and 8 electric ranges; we installed 68 meters, tested 49, changed 8, disconnected 13, re-connected 3, removed 6,- and repaired 10. The total number of refrigerators inspected to date is 291 and the total radio sets 1656. Special tests were taken on 14 installations; 10 time-clocks were adjusted and 3 new time-clocks installed. Mr D. E. Roberts resumed his position with the Board on 30th July, and has been engaged continuously on re-in-spections, which are now‘due. During this period 233 lighting plants, 2 cow-plants, 8 other power plants, 21 washing machines, 76 stoves, and 62 water-heaters have been re-in-spected and where defects were found notices have been issued. Usual inquiries were given attention.
